Another Sample Done
I am just working my fingers to the bone trying to get my samples done by next month and here is another one for a kit. Each picture is taken after a row is completed. The kit for this style of bracelet come in a number of different colors. This bracelet reminds me of spring when the trees are starting to get their leaves.
Viking Knit Fun
Viking Knit is a old technique that was discovered to be from the 8th century. Its actually a weave instead of a knit, and its done with wire. It looks beautiful in silver and gold but I had other ideas for this years jewelry. Wanted to have some fun with it so I dug out my colored wire and made some earrings for the spring shows. These were the prototypes but they turned out pretty good anyway. Now that I've had my play time its time to get to work on the bracelet kits in viking knit. Those will be ready for the bead show too.
Samples Of More New Kits For 2012
Here are samples of four more new kits for this year. All the kits will have 6mm Swarovski crystals and the metal charms in the samples. These are so much fun and so easy to make. Even if you're a beginner you can whip one of these out in no time. They are a conversation piece to say the least. These will be ready for sale at the bead show; March 24 & 25 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison WI. Make sure you come and join the fun--you know you want too!
Wild About Wire & Metal
Some of my favorite things to do are with wire and metal. I used to like weaving as a kid and still like it but now it's with wire instead of paper or yarn. Art class was always my best liked subject in school so when I took a metal class there was no looking back. Everything I make is with some kind of hand tool and I don't use heat of any kind. The only power tool I use is a dremel and that is only for polishing. So when I say my jewelry is handmade--I mean handmade!
Adjustable Wire Crochet Jewelry
Look at those pearls! Absolutely beautiful freshwater pearls in greens and amethyst! The Czech glass beads just add to the sparkle of this set. This is an example of the wire crochet jewelry you will find at one of my shows. All pieces are made with non-tarnishing silver wire and they are soft on the skin--nothing that pokes you. If you have never worn a piece of my wire crochet jewelry you have to find a show near you this year and try on a piece to get the full effect. There is nothing like wearing a comfortable piece of jewelry that you can adjust to your size.
New For 2012-The Preview
Introducing a few new kits for 2012. Fall Leaves and Garden Party are the first two new additions to my line of kits. These are complete project kits to make one bracelet. Everything is included but the tools. These take time but are so worth it!
Wire Gone Wild!
I made this pendant for my daughter. Its a stone she picked out and I finally had the time to wrap it--now she'll stop buggin' me about it!
It turned out pretty nice so she should be happy with it.
Now I'm off to do more wire wrapping. I've been stashing cabs all year and now I get to play with rocks!
